stephen crane

After you read "The Open Boat," blog about your opinions on Naturalism. Is the story's conclusion consistent with the tenets, or ideas, of Naturalism? Do you believe that such a force exists?

yes, I do believe that some actions or happenings can cause some people to believe that "supernatural happenings" or something out of our grasp of mind is controlling outcomes of life, but personally I don't believe there to be a power beyond ours that has more say in my life than i do. The ending of open boat does suggest to the reader that naturalism is a real thing, but that's part of crane's writing style for that story.

Neutralism, is without an opinion. Its a person or a thing that doesn't care who you are or what you are. This is rarely found in humans. People who don't care if your a Racist, Sexist, Homophobic, etc.
My opinion is that Neutralism is non existent in the human race. We will always have an opinion we will always slightly dislike people on the opposite side of your belief line.

I can’t believe there there are no supernatural happenings, there are so many things that happen, which can’t be explained. If there was only naturalism than why can’t we explain everything?

I believe that nature is a big part of how our life works, I believe that there is something out there greater, and bigger than us. There's so many things we can't explain, there's got to be something.

I like to think if I live a good life I will be rewarded, there is more than just us on our planet, it's narrow minded to think we're the only intelligent life in the whole universe.

I've always believed that there is a higher power. Not necessarily God, but something that controls our fate and is the reason for many unexplained things.

I dont really believe that there is a power that controls us, but what i think that we are ruled by the judging of other people. Some people really care about what others say about them and take it to the heart instead of trusting themselves and always try something new. People need to start breaking the law nature.

yes i strongly believe that there are certain things that happen to a person or thing that is the cause of "the supernatural" because i have had some of the things happen to me. there are some things that happen to us that cant be explained but are not supernatural.

I both believe in naturalism and don't believe in it. What I believe in Is that people are driven by "want" and will do something to fulfill that need of "want" whether it is to go have fun with some one, meet some one that maybe your future husband or wife, or do something that may send you to jail. The reason why I slightly believe in it is that of karma were if you were to do something cruel to some one than that equal amount of cruelness is going to be sent back to you at some point in the future, or you you do something good then you will be repaid in a good way at some point in the future. Now if it is a force of love then I don't think it will be catagorized under "want"force, but a force by itself that I can't explain.
